Wilmington attorney Douglas A. Fox was sworn in as Chairman of the ABC Commission on Monday, March 1, 2004. Chairman Fox succeeds Ann Fulton, who has retired as Acting Chair.

Chairman Fox has been an attorney for the New Hanover County Alcohol Beverage Control Board since 1984. This county ABC system is the second most profitable in the State. Chairman Fox is a senior partner in the law firm of Yow, Fox and Mannen, and is a member of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the N.C. State Ports Authority board and is a past president of the New Hanover County Bar Association. Chairman Fox received a bachelor's degree from Guilford College in Greensboro and a law degree from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama.
