Permit Renewal & Registration Information

Thursday, October 21, 2021

On August 16, 2021, Governor Cooper signed House Bill 73, which defers or waives certain 2021 ABC permit fees. The payment portal for 2021 permit renewals and registrations was opened on October 1, 2021 and can be found here:

The ABC Commission mailed a letter to each ABC permit-holder with instructions about renewal or registration payments that may be due. The online payment portal is specific to each business and reflects the accurate amount due for renewal. The ABC Commission is aware some businesses received duplicate letters, but this will not affect the fees owed.

Even if no renewal fees are due for your business in 2021, each ABC permit-holder must submit an updated recycling plan. If needed, the recycling forms can be found under the Retail Permit Applications and Forms section found here:

Please mail your updated recycling plan to the following address:

Payments for permit renewals and registrations are due no later than April 30, 2022. While this announcement provides payment instructions for 2020 and 2021 permit fees that may be owed, please keep in mind that 2022 permit fees will be due by April 30, 2022 as well. The ABC Commission will mail a separate letter early in 2022 with instructions for 2022 payments.
