David Sherlin
David Sherlin was appointed by Governor Roy Cooper as a Commissioner of the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission in November 2023. Commissioner Sherlin is a North Carolina native and attended Appalachian State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before earning his law degree at North Carolina Central University. Commissioner Sherlin is a partner at Epstein Sherlin, PLLC, where he practices civil litigation. Commissioner Sherlin started his legal career as a prosecutor with the Wake County District Attorney's Office where he worked from 2005 through 2011. In 2011 Commissioner Sherlin joined the firm Kirby & Holt. In 2013 Commissioner Sherlin founded Holt Sherlin LLP where he practiced until 2021. Commissioner Sherlin and his wife, Lise, reside in Raleigh with their two teenage children.
